I guess I've slowly been getting more and more play in my gas pedal of my 04 2500. This morning I stopped and it was like tge pedal was stuck at 2300 rpms so I tapped it and it reved up to 300. I shut the truck off. Started it and it went rigjt back up to 3000. Shut it off again and started it snd it was normal but then the gas pedal went to the floor without doin anything. Limped it home. Tried it later and it works fine but I've got about 4 inches of play now and its stiff and it doesn't seem like I can open it up in gear. Help please!!

 

Sounds like time for new pedal.
