compounds?
tring to make a compound using my stock turbo and a turbo off of a 97 chevy with a 6.5 does any one know what size the chevys turbo is and is it worth the touble? i am a bomber on a budget
|
the 6.5 turbo is way way way to small to use in a compound set, you should be looking at S471s or S475s
|
are those aftermarket? i have a friend he has a after market 62mm but its off of a 07 will it fit on a 04.5
|
the 6.5L turbo was too small for the 6.5 and all its glory. yes it is aftermarket and you will want something biggeer than a 62 for your bottom charger.

ok thank you do you know what size the stock turbo is on these truck? do you have any preference on the brand of turbos.do yall know any one that would be willing to trade a weatherby vanguard 30-06 for one
|
i do believe this is the factory turbo you will have HE351 60/60/9
|
thanks for your help would you have any tips on getting a little more hp. i have a dr moudle? 30 horse chip and custom exhaust and tight on money any help would be awesome thanks agian

save up and get a smarty or an EFI live programmer. there are some internal mods you can do on your pump but a programmer is where the power is on the common rails. get a good exhaust when the money gets less tight.

I can get you a used HT-60 for about $350+shipping it is a good turbo for compounds and what I am using. I am not a dealer in turbos just know a place to pick one up for you if you want one. The S475 or S471 are 75mm and 71mm turbos which also make a good compound setup.
The turbos are large so you will have fun moving stuff around to make it fit... but it has been done before so there is some evidence that it can be done. |
is the HT-60 better than the stock i tow all day long for work and this my only truck would it be better to have a bigger turbo for towing all the time
