antifreeze smell

If you are smelling it in the cab it most likely is the heater core or the connection to the core I would think. That's all I can think of that could leak coolant inside the cab.

i had steam on the drivers side under the hood once too but couldnt find any antifreeze. its fine normal driving everyday i travel about 220 miles a day the only time you smell it is under a load on a big hill but only if its working hard. im baffled guess it time to get another 12 valve an not mod it as heavy as my other one so i can get it to start in the winter

It could also be a small leak from the head gasket or the thermostat housing. I am leaning towards heat core as well. Does your heater produce "fog" when it is on?

no heater works normal no exhaust smoke other than a little black the temp seems to stay alot closer to 200-205 on a warmer day. coult it be the water pump it looks like theres a small leak from that?

It could be leaking through the weep hole on the water pump. I think you can check them by take the belt off and turning by hand. If it is real hard to turn I believe it is shot.

I pretty sure that is how you tell.

Look at the water pump weep hole.

Also look at the steel lines running under the exhaust manifold. There is a silicone tube that connects the steel lines, they tend to leak because the clamps get loose.

I've experienced both, and never saw a drip on the ground...

What what the outcome of this? Mine ended up being heater core, what a pain. Three months later I have to do it again, bad factory core or ????
