Steved, thank you for the suggestion but as I mentioned in my original posting "I smell burnt oil both outside and inside of the cab" thus I do not believe it is a bad fan motor but anything is possible.

I like the idea of adding dye to the oil and would suggest the same. The dye should show up even if the oil residue is hard to find. Using a UV dye for A/C systems would work nicely, turn the garage lights off and the UV dye should light up like a christmas tree.

I spilled a Little oil doing my oil change and I can smell it when I get out of the truck after running it to town or on The highway. Might be some residue around the top that is still burning off I'm sure with all the crevisis you won't get all the oil cleaned off the engine.

That is certainly a consideration and I hope you are correct but after driving about 1500 after the oil change that the dealer did on the truck I would have thought any spilled oil would have burned off by now. However this is a different beast than I had in the past as Steved had indicated in his post.

I will run for another 500 -1000 miles and see if the smell is still present, if so then I will use the UV approach as suggested by several members.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank all who have responded to my question! It is great to know that there are individuals around the country that are willing to help and share their knowledge with strangers!
