newbie question

Ok I've looked around on here and can't find what I want, now before I say
This I will clarify that I do NOT want smoke, I simply want an answer
would a stock 2005 cummins 5.9 24 valve smoke? All it has that I know of is a k&n air intake
and a silverline muffler(no cat), ill be honest when I first got
the truck all I wanted to do to the truck was make it
Smoke, but after reading through these forums I have
bigger and better plans, so thank you DB

A stock 05 will slightly haze at best. Not smoke.

Would there be anyway to get rid of that

Couple thoughts...

Did the PO have a programmer on it? (Is it still installed?) Have the local dodge dealer flash it with factory programming.

If the injectors are worn, they will produce a pronounced puff of smoke...and a haze under load.

Aftermarket injectors (without a programmer) will smoke more than stock too...my 40hp sticks would give a good puff and haze even without a programmer.

If the K&N is an older one, they were noted to cause dusted engines...that is scoring of the cylinder walls.
