2006 3500 Auto Trans Upshift slipping...
This is my first post. Hello, looks like a great site. I've done some research and though I don't think my question was answered, I learned a bunch just from searching.
Well, this 3500 has 84,000 miles. Can't believe I have transmission problems already. Anyway, this problem appeared after the truck sat for a while. When starting from a stop, it wants to not shift into second...it slips according to the shop (not dealer) so what happens is that the RPM's go way up...if I let off, it goes into second and if I feather or take it easy, it will shift fairly normally. When you want to accelerate, it doesn't go, it revs up, but doesn't go into next gear unless I back off the accelerator. I've read about a governor and also about adjusting bands. Is this best done at the dealer or can I take it to my local shop...they've got a fairly good database to draw on for repairs and I'll get the parts if that is what I need. I'm also having trouble again with the AC. Had the compressor exchanged a little over a year ago, now its not working again. It has freon according to the shop...have to find out if the compressor went south again. Anyone else have these issues? |
