Buying 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Could use some advice?

Hey guys/gals/etc lol,
Well im buying a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 RWD Quad Cab its an auto tranny with 274,000 miles. Ive already went and checked over the truck and it doesnt leak, or smoke, theres no blow by, tranny shifts good, doesnt burn oil, all new fluids and it really is in good shape. Are there any issues I should be worried about with this high of miles?

Lift Pump has been my biggest nemesis. I also rebuilt the tranny at 220,000 miles......all else has been good. I have 315,000 miles on mine.

I was leaning towards the lift pump and tranny also. I was thinking of buying a FASS system to supplement the lift pump since it has high miles. How much does a rebuilt tranny cost in one of these bad boys?

I also went to a FASS. I put a $6000.00 tranny in mine, but it will take up to about 900 HP. You may not want all the extras. Also my B-I-L owned a tranny shop so the labor was free, and it only cost me parts at wholesale. It would have been about 6 grand tranny retail with labor.

Damn 6k prolly more like 9k with taxes and labor lol. Well idk what im gonna do cuz even a used tranny install would run me prolly 3k and I dont know how well this truck was takin care of there are no maintenance records. So i dont know if the fuel pump was changed/lift pump/injectors/or anything. all of these will probably cost me an arm and a leg in the near future. Well let me ask you. its a 2004 dodge ram 3500 2wd with 274k miles no rust, all new fluids, runs good, no leaks. And I can get it for 7k no questions asked. Would you buy it?

auto trans rebuild

I rebuilt the 47re in my 2001, which is very similar to the 48re in newer Dodges, and with the usual ''built'' stuff like triple disk tc, shift kit, kevlar bands it was $3000 including labor, which I didn't think was bad. It shifted better than when I bought it new.

only 3k for a tranny aint bad. Has it given you any problems since?

When I say a 6 grand tranny, I meant, that is what mine would cost total in a retail setting.......that price includes labor and tax.

none, it has done beautifully. I decided that instead of getting a namebrand mailorder I'd go with a local shop that did a great job on my Mercedes that seemed to have a lot of experience with truck autos.
