Routine Maintenance NV5600
For the NV5600 it takes Mopar 4761526. is there an equivalent or better. it just gets me going when this is a dealership only item and they bust me for $100 for 5qts!

Texaco 1874 MTX is the only other fluid, according to dodgeram.info :humm:
WOW this is really kinda bogus... At least it does not need to be done very often.:argh:
Make sure to put 2 extra quarts in . My trans builder swears by the fact they need additional fluid
Ok, so i wanna know how the heck you can put an extra 2 quarts in there? after it full the rest just pours out. I'm not putting any $20 fluid on the ground.
hey i also found on the ams oil website they have a syncromesh fluid for that trans. only $12qt |
I use a tool designed for filling sealed autos and might loose a drip or two but you could just jack that side of the truck up , or park on an angle or on a steep hill...all works just as well.
you can also go in from the top. you just have to take the shifter out to do it. it takes about 15-20 minutes, but it goes right in no problem. i think pennzoil has a synchromesh oil that will work as well.
Pennzoil? :D
Only takes 9.5 pints. :tu: 2 pints per quart = 4.25 quarts. |
Seriously, the Pennzoil Synchromesh is a quality gear oil that works really well in the 5600's and has for years.
see i have never got into this oil war every one gets a hard on about. but as far as i go im still kinda partial to the napa brand synthetics, and i know its Valvoline oil cause one of the cases i bought a couple years ago said NAPA 5w30. but in fact was valvoline on the inside.... never had an issue due to oil failure
