So I went out to start my Dodge the other day, "click click click" No biggie right? Two new batteries and I should be ok......WRONG. Now my prodigy brake controller is ALWAYS on like a trailer is latched on. I also have a code (not a concern to me really) P 2509.

I went ahead and cut the wire to the controller till I find out what's the deal with it. In the last week I've had a headlight go, the batteries and now the controller is spazing out. Should I just light the thing on fire now and walk away :scare2: ?

What year is it? Ever messed with the drivers side fender ground? The code is def related to your issues but was most likely caused by the weak batts. My 03 is starting to become more problematic with wiring to a point...

The code is caused by the weak batteries as far as I know. It's an 07 5.9. Never messed with the fender ground either. What gets me is the fact the controller has been in the truck from day 1 off the lot. I cut the wires for now until I get an answer from somewhere about this issue.

Ok I got an email back from tekonsha. I was told the controller just needs to be reset. To reset it I just need to unplug it from the truck and plug it back in. I guess we'll see in a bit when I go out and try it.
