guy complaining about is 03

I'm a mechanic in a shop that works on lots of equipment. A guy we do work for has an excavating company, his personal truck is a 03 cummins quad cab 4x4 long box. the only thing i have ever had to do to the engine was rep the water pump. He has had to do alot of front end work due to the the mud and rough terrain he goes through. he has 230,000 kms on the truck last week he told me he should of bought a ford !!!:choochoo: as a mechanic i thought yes

Lucky he's made it that long. Front ends will fail if you do a lot of off roading.

oh he has had alot of front end work. i'm making a comment on the 5.9 vs the 6.0

after the elevinteenth set of head gaskets on the 6.0 he would be saying he should have bought the Dodge..... assuming you are comparing an 03 Dodge 5.9 to a late 03 early 04 Ford 6.0

if you have the heads done correctly (NOT BY THE DEALERSHIP) they will last

true BUT in the early stages when the truck IS under warranty, why would someone PAY someone to change them when a dealer will keep doing it for free..... that is until the warranty is over.... not to mention injectors going bad, or EGR coolers leaking or turbo veins sticking.... just to cover a few early problems the early 6.0's had....

the only downsides the 03 Dodges had was front suspension and maybe the occasional transmission..... and even those done correctly with NON-OEM parts (NOT BY THE STEALERSHIP) will last.....
