Blew up the 06

Sheared off a valve, broke down the motor, it took out a piston cracked the cylinder wall, and ended up in the turbo. Turbo can be repaired, head is getting inspected now. My real question is what do you guys think about having the cylinder sleeved or should I look for a block. I know a company that will sleeve it in the truck, without pulling the motor, for $500.00 Any ideas would be great. Tahnks

500. is alot! Call around! How can they do it in the truck? How did the valve fail??

They have a machine that will bore it out and sleeve it right in the truck with the top end off, the cylinder and rod out. I watched them do a 7.3 Ford last week. The people who have looked at the valve thinks it from it getting to lean when it lost an injector a couple months ago. I'm not sure.

Bummer! It's all about the money! If you yank the motor it's like 200. left in the truck 500. your choice! But do your homework not all sleeves are the same!

I'd tear the entire engine down, and clean it. Don't know how much metal is still in the oil passages, and your gonna end up in a worse boat than your in right now. :ouch:
