I did alot of looking around on this awhile back and from peoples experience i decided on toyo open country m/t. Every body said they had super good wear rates for a mud tire almost as good as most highway tires. As for were to buy them cheap let me know

Dura Grappler I've got 30k miles on a set of 285-75/17s on my 1st Gen and they do not appear to be near half gone yet. Very quiet and highest load rating in it's class, if you tow. That size equals about a 34" tall tire so will give a nice jump in overall gearing above stock for a bit better highway fuel mileage. |
I'm gonna be needing some new skins before the snow starts falling and I've been looking real hard at these: CooperTiresConsumer - Discoverer A/T3™ I've always had good luck with Coopers. These have a 55,000 mile tread wear rating and have been getting very good reviews on line.
I need new tires soon. Right now i have Goodyear Wrangler silent armors and they are great, but i'm going to try something different. I've been looking at Nitto Terra Grapplers and I think that what i'm going to go with
The best mud tire on the market currently is hankook dynapro mt's. They will be the next tire on my truck for sure. They are also studdable for winter conditions.
If you are looking for a good all around tire, the Nitto Teragrabber is the best. I have 295/75/17 on mine and they are fine. Actually, the next time I have to buy some new feet for the ram, I am going up to 305s. The 305s will work if you have raised up the front with a leveling kit. I have had the Toyo on there before but, they didn't last long. I have about 25000 miles on them now and still have half thread on them. These are great aggressive looking A/T tires that you will be pleased with and much cheaper than the Toyo.

295/75/17 make your trick set up higher, i was gonna put bigger tires on and maybe a leveling kit,

The Bridgestone Dueler AT is a good choice. They are a little soft feeling, but they carry weight well and seem to be wearing well for me...I use them for a winter tire, but they seem to handle mild offroad fairly well.

I use Ironman Electra LT265/70-17 10ply tires from Hercules. They are not bad on highway or gravel roads but they really suck in mud or snow. I've put 35k miles on them and they are little over half gone on treads. I'll be in the same boat shopping for tires at the end of the year. :humm:

Cooper Discoverer AT3 are awesome. Look great wear great and have great traction in every condition I have been in. On highway I have no noise, and they are very stable even when hauling a loaded trailer. They dig great in the mud and on gravel. I haven't tried them in snow yet but I think they will do fine. The price is very affordable to. Good luck:tu:

I need to get myself some good A/Ts very soon.
@ OP- Here is a good site for wheels/tires Rimz One| Wheel & Tire Packages |
I love my 285/70/17 terra grapplers. They have real good side bite in the snow and run quiet down the road. I haul livestock with a 45 foot double decker featherlite trailer with gvr's around 32,000 pounds. The only problem is that the trailer catches the snow in the front and it builds up to the point of filling my bed. Sooooo, in other terms, when you are stuck, you are stuck good!

I had hankook mt's they looked great, wore bad and noisy got 20k out of them, went to Terra grapplers 34-10.5 x17 , love them now but hated the first 500 miles , would recomend them and the price was great, $800 for a set of 4 e rated
I have 42k on my Toyo Open Countrys they are a load E rated tire and they are awesome in the snow I have about 25% tread life left on them... I have had no problems with them at all and looking to invest in another set... The best price I have found is on ebay... I went to portland and got a quote of $1540 installed...
i have general grabber at2s on my dodge 2500 gaser and they are not noisy and grab great in snow and the road and very afforadable
I have Goodyear wranglers and have hated them from day 1. Ride sucks, always has a bounce, they are wearing quick with rotate every 3,000. Won't ever have em again.

toyo open country m/t.
toyo's are great for around town driving and the occasional offroading, but with very little high way time they dont last plus they are one of the heavier tires on the market. I have a set of NITTo trail grappler 37x13.50R22 on my truck that sees an average of 40 miles of highway a day and they lost hardley any tread on a 1900 mile drive from nevada to Ohio. you also cant go wrong with a set of pro-comps. But dont waist the money on toyos
I have TOYO OC A/T'S. Was mostly happy w/ the 1st set. Discovered I couldn't air them to the spec's. on the door. They wore in the middle too much. And, at about 80% wear, got a bulge in one. That was a fun ride, bouncing for about 200 miles. About 150 miles to work and then around for a day before I could get to a discount tire. Got second set because tires I wanted weren't available at my home town tire shop. I have found discount tires to be an awesome place. Great prices and great customer service. When I went in there w/ that knot on my tire they moved my spare to my 'pretty' wheel and didn't charge me anything!! Hasn't anyone tried Mickey Thompson? They claim to have more tread. Was planning on them next for my '03 Silverado 2500HD.

goodyear mtr's kevlar sidewalls, awesome expensive but so worth it amazing in the snow or fierce attitude tire are nice as well not to bad on price
i am on my second set of nitto trails and love them no noise and awesome in snow and mud do great in anything i can throw at them i drove from ft hood texas to fairbanks alaska and they still look new price is a lil much but definitely worth it
I had the nitto terra grapplers on my truck when I bought it. They wore out after 10k miles. They were almost brand new. I then bought a set of wheels with interco swampers on them. They were only 3k miles on them when I bought them and then they got 8k more and they were worn out. I have kelly safaris now with 5k miles and they barely have worn any. I'm impressed by them. I'm going with them probably when I get new tires.
i really like the primewell tires. i never really had heard of em and i got to doin lookin around and i found alot of people runnin them they wear great too
I have had very good luck with both BFG All Terrains and Nitto Terra Grappers.
