48RE transmission questions

So when i hop in my truck in the morning start it up and let it warm up than put her in drive she drives fine but if i decide to back into my driveway and turn around revearse works fine but as soon as i put it in drive it stays in first gear? Im thinking its something electircal due to the fact that after that happens i just put the truck in Park wait a second or two that shit back into drive and it works fine. It shifts fine, nice and firm... the TC locks up and releases at the right rpms, but this getting stuck in first gear only after having been in revearse before hand is driving me insane! If anyone has experienced this or knows something about it please let me know! Thanks for any and all info!

Howdy, Did you resolve this problem? I have had similar situation for last five years. Had transmission rebuilt and now it does again. Think mine is in the throttle valve somehow. After being in reverse, mine will stay in first until I advance the throttle past a "sticky" or "rough" spot felt on the accelerator. Then it shifts fine forever until I go to reverse again.

Gov pressure transducer and solenoid is the common source of that problem.

Throttle valve is hanging in the VB. Sonnax has a repair kit for it.

Thx for response. Which kit would it be (there are 10) and can it be done by me with the pan dropped? Or does the VB have to be removed?

The VB will have to removed to install the kit.
