P 2146 Trouble Code....Jake Brake Equivalent?

My truck keeps throwin the code P 2146. When it does it sounds like a big truck with the jake brake engaged. I am wondering since it is the first three cylinders cutting out, why cant I put it on a switch and use it as a jake brake? Or is it the same concept? It only does it when the engine is cold and you get on the throttle...??? Anybody encountered this? Thanks...

a jake brake shuts the valves off........sounds to me like you have an injector problem, its killing the fuel to certain cylinders.....does the engine shake violently when it does this???? cause if it dosent, it is killing the fuel to every other cylinder so it dosent get a misbalance........

It's more than likely your Juice doing it or a bad connection on the first injector connector.

The code definition is:Bank one-cylinders 123 short circuit high or low. It has only done it a couple times and its just annoying because it is right when you get on the throttle and never at cruising speeds. And it happens when the engine is rather cold. I don't know. I am calling Edge to see.
