Good Highway Rib Tires?
 

Whos running a highway rib tire out there? What kind are you running and hows it treating ya so far?

I am running the Firestone Transforce HT
I have about 5000 miles on my second set. I got about 55000 on the first set. 70% of those miles were towing 4-8 ton . Quiet tire, good fuel mileage tire.
I would give it a :tu: 10 out of 10 for on road
I would give it a 5 out of 10 for hard pack off road
I would give it a :td: .5 out of 10 for muddy loose off road.
Please remember I have DRW and DRW trucks are made for the pavement, IMO.

I hear the DRW rigs tend to have more of an issue in mud and snow already.

Im not lookin' to go wheelin' in my truck. But it will see dirt, mud, sand, and the occasional snow when im haulin' my 16' toy hauler. I know ill be that guy who gets stuck when I hit the dunes once I get rid of my mud terrains. But since 98% of the time ill be on the interstate I want something thats realistic for everyday and doesnt just have a cool looking tread pattern that rides like shit and wears out hella fast.

The tires I got my eye on are the Nitto Dura Grapplers. Im going to run the size Dodge called for and im hunting down a set of chrome 5 spoke rims off a newer dodge. Not the stamped steelies, the machined aluminum ones that are chomed. They look sick and wont stick out just enough to fling rocks all over the side of my truck.

Any other highway rib style tires to check out?

M/T tires are not so good for the sand because they just dig right in instead of staying on top of the sand like an A/T. I have a buddy who can dune his 2wd 1500 truck with A/T better then my bros 4x4 on M/T. I have run the Nitto Terra Grapplers and really liked them on my old truck and when I need tires for my truck now I'm going to give the Kumho KL78 a try because I have read good things about them and I can get the 315/70/17s (35s) for about 210 each. These are more of an AT tire and not a highway tire but might be a good option. Here is a link to them http://www.treadepot.com/tire/1905213.html
