Transmission trouble shifting into 2nd gear

Wifes truck has troubl shifting up from first to second, it revs out in first And then shifts after it hits almost 3,000 Rpms after you left your foot off the throttle.

Only 120k 2006, short bed, never been chipped.

I've read about pressure sensor and
tightening the bands, any insight?

Cheers.

Id check to see if the if the band anchor has came undone. This will cause the truck not to shift from 1st to 2nd unless you lift off the throttle. We had a truck in the shop last week that was doing this same thing and that was the problem. But it wouldnt hurt to adjust the band as well while you have the pan dropped. You will have to drop the valve body if it is the band anchor to repair it.

I'm pretty mechanically inclined, this is my seventh diesel truck, bit it's the first (and last automatic) so automatics may as well be chinease. Is adjusting the bands something I could tackle myself? Or would it be wise to book it in?

Hey thanks guys, thumbs up. I got er fixed,

100 bucks for a inch pound torque wrench and fluids. Only took about an hour.

Thanks for the help. Cheers :tu:

How DO you adjust the bands? I just got done putting all new solenoids in mine and it didn't fix the problem.

Do a google search! easy to do just need the right tools!
