Replace the intake baffle with a piece of pipe.

scoggins 12-22-2007 08:27 PM

What size pipe and what kind??

Super Dave 12-24-2007 04:21 AM

I think its 6" exhaust tube to replace the center section. Or you can just gut the stock piece for free.

I used 5" exaust pipe onmine, It sucked the hose down abit to clamp it but its still bigger that the stock piece.

I've seen some of you dodge guys use flexible Dryer duct. Man that looks SWEET!

paroxysym 12-26-2007 06:47 AM

intake baffle, silncer ring, swiss cheese the airbox, gut the cat, straight pipe exhaust... should sound niiicceee

donnie 12-28-2007 09:40 PM

Wouldnt cutting a 4" hole in the bottom of the air box ands running the ducting do the same as swiss cheesing it?
Just curious.

06 DIESEL 12-28-2007 09:51 PM

Yes, but with the ducting to the bottom of the fender you them have a cold air intake.

Super Dave 12-29-2007 01:42 PM

Put a ziptie on the radiator overflow tube next to the cap to keep it from leaking:dm:

I cut a 4" hole in the bottom on my stock airbox. Screwed in a Dryer hose adapter that vents to the outside of the house. Then attached a dryer hose to the bottom of the fenderwell and secured using tie wraps. Also attached a 4" stove pipe bend to the bottom of the hose. Instant ram air effect.

how do you gut the cat? Without taking it to the muffler shop. Sorry for the stupid ? but if anyone has a vid on it i'm interested. thanks

please elaborate.

do you put in front of the radiator? I thought that was just to get heat faster in the wintertime.

Good one, I have an annoying single drop on the verge of dripping ... never would have thought about this one on my own.

chris553712 08-15-2009 12:24 PM

isnt there anything fuel related that is free turning up the fuel pump anything to pump my truck up with some more fuel

biged681985 08-15-2009 01:56 PM

this is on third gens in this thread, on a 24 valve, there aint anyway to get more fuel for free, just like on the 3rd gens.

young gun 08-15-2009 02:04 PM

you can only turn up the pumps on 2nd gen and 1st gen. 3rd and up are all computer controlled need a programmer to turn up your pump

biged681985 08-15-2009 02:39 PM

only 12 valve 2nd gens, the 24valve vp44 is a second gen, requires programmer or downloader

You could replace the airbox to turbo section (after the curve from airbox before the turbo) straight section with a 5 inch pvc and get rid of the baffled stock piece use two large clamps and don't overtighten. You can really hear the difference after doing this less than a dollar mod. 5 in pvc hard to get from plumber not too common but is available and that is tube size you need.
