Regular 75w90 In My Rear Axle
Ok, long story short, i currently have regular 75w90 in my rear axle, not the synthetic stuff with the limited slip additive like it should be. It has a couple thousand miles with this stuff in it
Tomorrow im gonna drain and refill with the correct fluid. Is it possible that i may have some damage to the gears and/or limited slip? Do i need to totally flush it or will a drain and fill work? |
I would just change it with the syn and be done with it
after ya get the cover off jack up each side of the truck a side at a time so the oil in the axle tubs can drain out too you got a possi |
drain and fill will be fine...... i always use 2 tubes of additive i get from advance or autozone that's in a blue tube and is for limited slips...... these rears are so big to me that's the bare min...... i always use 2 in my other vehicles with ford 8.8" rears..... i never have had any problems.....
