Crankcase Vent Filter

Have you guys ever changed your crankcase vent filter? Don't see anything about it in the maintenance manual. I adjusted my valve clearance today and that's what got me to thinking that maybe this filter should be changed at some time.

P.S. After having to adjust every rocker arm, my truck lost that annoying ticking :jump:

Are you talking about the steel wool/ metal mesh?? I know with the Detroit series 60 you can just take it out and wash it in solivent then wash off with water and let dry.

On the cummins motor theres a black box on top of the crankcase with two lines coming off of it. One goes to your blowby and the other is a return to the oil pan I think. I don't believe you can even open it up without destroying it.

I believe my owners manual says do it at 130k but I just did mine at 94k because they were ticking. Theres a pretty good write up on it in the dodge tech forum if I'm not mistaken, it's not too bad of a job.
