I haven't noticed any difference in MPG, power, etc., though- I always thought it would just lube it up a little better.
Thanks for the reply. The study that you attached had some great information. I think I will run 2 cycle oil now. The price and availability is decent.

Purchased the Wal Mart brand 2 cycle oil. Started running it a couple days ago, I definately notice its a little quieter in the morning when I fire it up. My brother is also going to start running the same. He also said that the Military did a study and found similar results!

YES I have been from the day that I got some 15PPM fuel. It help me about 1 to 1 1/2 MPG. Truck runs a little quieter.

I tried 2-stoke oil in two tanks of fuel, and didn't notice as big of a difference as when I use Stanadyne. Use what works for you, but I'm going to use 2-stoke for it's intended purpose, the weed eater.

Now that was a very cool link bullet5.9!!! Thanks!!
I always wondered how they all compare... I'm an amsoil dealer so I just bought a 5 gallon bucket of the stuff.... Saves a LOT of money over buying the 16oz bottles!! I'm glad to see the stuff works pretty good!
I think 2 years from now once it's all I wont bother tho... I'll get stanadyne or one of the cheaper ones...

No, if done in the right mixture it prevents smoking.

You better read in the alternative fluid, fuel and additive section. There are bunch of 2-stroke threads, questions, and more important, you will find answers there!

Do not expect instant results- it takes it time.
Do not expect mileage gains, it's all about math. Paying a bit to protect injectors and IP or to change the complete IP. Which hurts more?

The ideal mixture is 1 :200 down to 1:250, anything more does not bring any benefits and makes the 2-stroke dealer happy.
