NEWBIE WITH A QUESTION!!!!

Hi I'm new too this so bare with me!! My problem is: when I am pulling my 4500 lb travel trailer uphill with my 2005 dodge quad cab 4 wheel drive diesel, it does not want to stay in 3rd gear and shifts into overdrive there it stays until about 40-45 mph or 1100 rpm. The only way to get it back into 3rd gear is to either floor the throttle to 3/4-full or take it out of tow haul mode and put it back in. But then it shifts back into overdrive on its own at about 50-55 mph and then have to repeat the process all over again. My concern is that it lugs the engine down to 1100 rpm and the transmission has to down shift and up shift constantly. Is there away to keep it in 3rd gear and hold it there. The truck has enough power to pull uphill at 60 mph or better without lugging it.(all in 3rd gear) I just can't get it to stay there!! Is there anyway to manually keep it in 3rd. I change the tranny and transfer case fluid once a year but have never adjusted the bands. It has 83,000 miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Either APPS issue or Noise issue with alternator and lockup

Disconnect batteries for 1hr and slowly reset accelerator to reset APPS

look for noise isolator at cummins performance parts - around $20

You don't have a OD off button? Bummer my 06 does! Get a smarty so you can reprogram where the pedal is at certain RPM's with the POD "Power on Demand"
