Water pump leaking. :(
Well it finally happened. 106,000 it started pouring fluid. Everything was fine until just did coolant change. U think that pissed it off and then it just decided to die? Wat b_t_h to get fan and crap out. My gosh. Put that damn thing in the hardest place. Time to change belt also I guess. Anything else???

Nope, pretty normal... I got 101k outa my stocker and full lucky you dnt have a dmax a cummins is a walk in the park compaired to that sob :D
|
Dang. Yeah I bet it is a bit more cramped.

Water pump might be about the easiest job there is on these trucks.
The reason it goes after a coolant change around so many miles (?) is the sediment gets stirred up and puts the coup de grace to what was a marginal seal by that time. That's why I run coolant filters: http://stuff.is-a-geek.net/PhotoAlbu...ics/CRD_15.JPG http://stuff.is-a-geek.net/PhotoAlbu...cs/CTD_231.jpg |

Dang. Looks rough. Hopefully this will be easy going back on and work good for another 100,000
|
From what I remember I replaced my pump w/o pulling anything but the belt.
took like 20 min. |
Damn. Your a gifted man. I don't see how a hand can get in there.
|
May as well do the tensioner and idler pulley bearing. Tensioner is around $70 @ NAPA, and it's got a steel pulley.
|
you're kidding, right? When doing the water pump in a cummins, all you need to pull is the pump....that's all. no belts, shrouds, fans etc. Just the pump. I've had a harder time with the oil filter.:scare2:
