steering stabilizer
 

iam trying to take off the factory stabilizer and cant the dang thing off !!!! iv tried beating it, used pickle forks, pitman puller , and finally tried cutting it off and still cant get it to come out . i was wondering if anyone had any ideas to get this bolt out of the tie rod

Heat it up and hitting it with a hammer. You shouldnt have cut it, it might make it much harder to get out. If you heat it and it still wont come out get it VERY hot again and drench it with gear oil, Heat again , cover in oil again, Then heat it again and beat it out.

It will come out, We take them out all the time with no issue. Be very careful if you were to bend anything you could make your truck hard to align!

and ur doing that without taking all the steering linkage out ?

Yep. But if it makes you feel better pop it all apart and do it that way.

This is what the factory manual says lol It calls for .4 hours and we shoot for about 10 minutes R&R
REMOVAL

1. Remove the steering damper mounting nuts and bolts.
2. Slide the damper from the isolation bushing.
3. Remove the damper.


INSTALLATION

1. Install the steering damper on the axle and isolation bushing. Tighten nut to 95 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) .
2. Install the steering damper on the tie rod. Tighten nut to 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.) .

well if i dnt have too i dont really wana i just know its p***n off im not a mechanic but i like to learn new stuff just didnt think this would be this big off a deal to get out

It really shouldnt be but in the same respect being a tech I know how little simple things turn out to be a real hassle. It should just pop right out. The shaft is tapered.
Have you used some penetrating oil? Those drag links are known for cracking, just be cautious and dont bend or break it, You'll be needing an alignment then.

iv been letting it soak in some blaster im bout to go check on it again. have u ever put in the upgraded invertd t steering linkage is it worth it becuz i was thinkn bout doin this also

Due to liability issues we only install Mopar or Moog steering components. Sorry cant help you there.

iam pretty sure its a mopar upgrade i was reading that dodge startin puttin them on 2008 and newer 4x4 diesels but didnt know neone that has done it or heard bout it

Not for your truck. The new style steering linkage has multiple changes and that system IIRC will not work on the older trucks. There is no updated linkage from mopar for your truck.
