The consensus around here is they average 70,000-120,000 miles. Some owners get more miles on a set some get less on a set.
From what I have read there are two major factors in the life of injectors and pumps.
1) Buy quality fuel, poor quality fuel will cause excessive wear and premature damage.
2) Fuel filtration, a 2micron filter is a must for fuel system longevity. (Changing the filter every oil change doesn't hurt either).

if i get a good fil-teration system with a 2 micron filter and keep my truck stock will the injectors last a while.

VP MAX Under Intake Filter System CR

CountryGirl91 01-14-2011 01:09 PM

I'm at 93,000+ miles and at start-up, it white smokes bad for a few minutes until I put it in gear and go. It also idles rough and misses.
I guess I feel better that it's common for them to go bad around that many miles but it's definitely not a great time to have to buy injectors now.

Some guy said to add some Stanadyne fuel additive and it will fix the problem. Sounds like a temporary fix to me but I guess I'll try it until I can buy some injectors. What threw us off was when he told my dad you can't replace nozzles on the CR...why couldn't you?

Its not dirt as much as it is water...I lost my OEs at 145k, and I had been running 1u filtration for the majority of those miles. However, I picked up a load of water at one point (drained over a gallon of water from my filters) and I attribute that to their demise.

i might buy the vp max under intake filter system cr.
