Clunk or banging on downshift
Just about every time my truck downshifts into 2nd around 20 mph it makes a clunking noise and you can feel it shift a little harder. Anyone have this issue and does it hurt anything or just annoying ?
Forgot to mention. Its an auto trans |
You could have a bad flywheel. My guess is the center bearing on your flywheel is comin apart, that seems to always be the culprit when we've ever had problems like that. Could also be a bad throwout bearing as well. It could also be something completely different, but these are the problems we've always seen in our trucks

Oh, then nevermind on my last post haha. I don't know too much bout the autos, but from what I heard that could be something with your tourge converter or your Clutch pack for that set of gears.

check you band asjustments if they are to tight it will cause it to downshift harder.

I have never adjusted or had the bands adjusted. Its done it since I bought the truck about 7,000 miles since I bought it (49K total miles on it). Should I take it back to the dealer ? I have the extended warranty.
