MY PROBLEM: When Im driving and hit 55 mph or higher my truck like downshifts and the RPM goes up hits bout 2 and the truck will shift back up again and continue driving just fine....then again down the road when i hit 70 75 it will do the same...slow down...downshift RPM goes up....then will shift back up and continue driving just fine. Please your answers or input is greatly appreciated as this is driving me --->:argh: |
my old ford use to do this, they said it was some kind of sensor. that may be your problem
|
I'm going out on a limb here, but it sounds like a failing APPS...symptoms are very similar to that of a 2nd gen auto. I don't know the 3rd gen autos at all, not sure what is similar if anything.

Please when you find the problem please let me know also. Mine started on may 5th, while driving down an interstate. 50 mph and rpm started to go up 500 rpm. I had the tranny looked at and it is good. While at that shop they tried all new sensors and also a tc. No help. Took new Sensors off and put oribinal parts back on. Changed new sensors in tranny. no help, Cleaned air contro sensor and map sensor. No luck. (After cleaning these two I did find a site that tells how to check value. I took it to two dodge dealers, at one dealer I had the computTor reflashed. no help. The last expert from dodge told me there is nothing that can be done, that I would have to just drive thru it. That is what they tell everyone with these trannys.

you might check into the throttle acuator on the tranny, mine went out and burnt up second gear
|
We tried that at the tranny shop. no help. Actually my truck is an 05 3500 single and not a dually. I do not know this site well enough to write down a question, so I went with this one because it is pretty much the same problem Thanks for the reply.
