Default sellinjg old truck getting new.

Ok i have a 98.5 dodge cummins 24 valve cummins. and i am selling it and i am wanting to get a 04 to 05 cummins. Is their anything i need to be aware of on the new trucks. like what year to get and not to get? i have 5 inch exhaust on my 98.5 would this exhaust fit on a 04 to 05 dodge .

I know in 04 there was a half year, 04.5 year is like the 05 from what I was told. As far as the exhaust goes, the turbo on the common rail engine is a lot lower than the previous style engine, someone will chime in with more specifics but I dont think it will work.

in my opinion!!!! i would keep the old!! i started with an 01...went to a duramax( didnt like that at all!!) then to an 05. i recently bought a 93 and i am sold!! my 05 is gonna be out the door and im gettin another first gen. the eas of repair and affordability is unmatched. dont get me wrong i like the 05, but i am gettin tired of computers and sensors. i have been told to use the K.I.S.S. method (Keep It Simple Stupid)
