2006 A/C problem?

Well when I put the blower motor on high I get very little volume through the vents is this a blend door problem? If so is there a write up on how to fix this thank you and have a great day.

What happens when you put it on floor or defrost?

AKchevyman 07-09-2010 06:30 AM

I get very little volume out of those also but it does change.

So anyone else have any more ideas on what the problem might be? So to recap with when I place the blower motor on high I get very little volume of air through the vents. When I switch it from defrost to floor the direction of the air changes but not the volume. So could this be a blend door issue?

This sounds just like what had happened to my 06.

Remove your blower motor (Passenger Side) and reach up through the hole, you should feel a plastic door laying there. Turn the door up and move it around until it has enough clearance to come out through the blower motor hole.

When they break, they fall down and block the air flow.

I removed mine and the air has worked better than ever. The only negative is that the recirculation mode doesn't work any more.

Rankram Well that is exactly what happend I got the new upgraded replacement part from Dodge for $45 and installed. What a chore that was it took about 3 hrs to take the entire dash apart to get to the bloody thing but now everything works. I am just waiting on the blend door to go next. At that time I will spend the money and go with the aftermarket fix. It is less hassel and a permanent fix.

Good,

I'm glad that you got it fixed........I'm waiting for my blend door to die as well.

I don't miss the recirc option at all, if or when the blend door goes, I will go with these guys!

Auto replacement part, blend door fix, Heat, AC replacement parts

Yeap that is who I am going to with also if I had knew how much of a pain it would have been for the recir door I would have ordered both with there instructions. Which doesn't require hardly any disassembly according to their website.
