6 spd swap questions
 

So i helped pngmotoman do his swap and now we need to know how the people who did it reprogramedthier ecm. His truck willl start and drive but its in "limp" mode, and the security system goes haywire, the dealer is telling us we need to buy a new ecm, and a custom shop wants to charge $935.00 to reprogram his stock one. If anyone can help with this issue so we can get his truck back onm the road, it wold be greatly apprecieated. The truck is a 06

When we did the swap on my 02 We used a Smarty and a Recovery file for the trans I was switching too. Like my truck was an HO Manual and we used the recovery file from an SO Auto.

Now are you talking ECM's or PCM's? Did you swap in the correct PCM? As far as I know there is no way to reprogram a PCM. You will have to swap one in. But as long as you have access to a Smarty(or other programmer) you should be able to reprogram the ECM with the proper tune.

i do have the smarty for the truck. right now i can start it and drive just no power with the smarty on #5. then some times i have to turn the key several times then it will start.

i pulled the trans fuses and pinned the N saftey in N i get limp mode some times but the tst can over power it lol im waiting for smarty ssr then ill get the reflash
