cold starts wtf 2005 5.9

started a couple weeks ago and slowly has gotten to this point, after sitting over night the truck doesnt want to start on the first or second crank like it traditionaly did. once started no problem for the day. for the record just recently installed new sending unit and m-prop/fcm which is located on the injection pump. I have no visable fuel leaks or loss of power when driving. I was thinking maybe crank sensor.........or maybe bad injector but w/ my experience i would see a noticable loss of power.

ANY IDEAS , ANYBODY

Welcome.

Have you scanned for codes?

i own a 2005 dodge w/ a 5.9 Cummins. Just recently it has had trouble starting on cooler days and after sitting overnight. to note i have already replaced the fuel sending unit and m-prop/fca which is located on the injection pump. once the truck has gotten to temp it runs fine for the day or duration. it has 92000 on it , and things i know it is not would start with the grid heater. i have no loss of power when driving at all. i was thinking crank sensor, but then was told by a tech that it could be as easy as retourqing the injectors, and no my check engine light is not on. any help would be appriciated.

Sometimes codes will set and not activate the check engine light. But my guess would be, a faulty injector. But the easiest and cheapest thing to try is drain the filter bowl to see how much water is in there, then replace the fuel filter (if not done within the last 6000 miles).

brand new fuel filter as well, could it still be a bad injector, even thogh i havnt lost any power. i was told they may just need retourqing?

also will a scan tool pick that up

One of the most common signs of worn out injectors is harder to start! After you get the new injectors in please install a 2 micron filter pre CP-3! Call Isaac at usa freedom diesel for a set for around 2200. He may still have some of the no core required sets if your lucky!

you could sucking air from somewhere

no air but like i was saying could the injectors just need to be retourqed?
