smarty is gonna be your safest bet. i talked with bob and mine is better now than it was earlier. i did as he said plugged it in, drove down the road, played with the pod and now i have it on SW3 POD 75 and i really like it. my mileage is 18-20 highway on winter fuel and colder temps. cant wait till summer months i bet i hit 22.

06 DODGE. Yes A true 26MPG. Not the overhead. It is A 4by QC short box. And is on true highway rubber. And as I said it is his baby and he treats it as such. And he is A heavy duty diesel Mech. So he knows everything inside and out. Not just A pissing in the wind I think it does this or that. And I have heard of melt downs from every unit on the market. So am not surprised those things happen in everything. Nothing ever breaks sittin in the garage.... And there is not A production line anywhere that doesn't produce A junk unit here and there... **** happens, start playing with things and you gotta be ready to accept the chances of it going south..

Rhino.

I would definately say Smarty. I have the S06 not the POD but I love it. I had superchips 1st & am glad i got rid of it. The Smarty has a website also so once you have one of the programmers you can go online for free & download any updates or new programs. The Smarty also has adjustable options like timing, railpressure, torque management, & a few others. And if the regular old smarty isnt aggresive enough you can download the revo-tnt program but you better have a stout tranny or clutch

Smarty, Smarty Jr or Edge Juice with Attitude works very well on the Common Rails.

I had the Edge Juice w/ Attitude on my 06 and it was a great unit with the gauges built right in. But i've now upgraded to a smarty s-06 pod and I love it. It's got awesome power. I've also heard bad things about the bully dog, but i've also heard a lot of good things. Seems more like 50/50 with the bully dog stuff. I don't know about you guys getting over 20mpg as I only get 15-19 towing or empty, so I can't relate to those higher numbers.

I have an '06 3500 Megacab SRW, and when I went looking for a programmer I went with the Hypertech Max Energy. With my G56 6-speed, it was the only one that was in the $300-$400 range that would pull the high numbers. +176HP/+289TQ on Stage III is pretty good for less than $500. However, that is only for the manual transmission, and only for the '05-'07 year Cummins. It's like +113HP if you have an auto tranny (safe-guard, I'm sure). So, in this VERY HEAVILY favored Smary post, I guess that any programmer/module that gets you the most smiles per gallon and doesn't gang-rape your wallet is all fine and dandy and comes down to personal preference.

In a related topic, my Hypertech on Stage II, along with my manual tranny, gets me MPG's in the 24.5-25 range quite consistently, when the temps warm up. This winter, at -35F to -40F temps, I still saw 18-19 MPG, which is up about 2-3 MPG over last year before I installed the programmer. However, I baby my truck quite a bit because the price of diesel fuel up here in the Alaskan Interior is freakin' ridiculous!
