In need of advice!!
Finally picked up my new S-300 (62/65) the other day and was told that the w/g was set "around 30-35 psi." I tinkered with the w/g rod and set it to actuate at 45 psi. Will this turbo safely run 45 psi or do I need to back it back down a little?

what about your head gasket i thought anything over 40 you was pushing it without studs:humm:

It's hard to say....some folks swear 50 is the max others say 40. I don't plan on going balls out with the new turbo for a little while. Hopefully without studs it'll hold until I can get that far into the game. Will that turbo safely support that amount of boost or should I reset it?

from the things ive read your still good as far as the turbo goes at 45 psi :humm:

I appreciate the replies Redneck. Yeah, at some point I will definitely have to stud the head....once the turbo goes on I'm on borrowed time :w2:.

Thanks for the reply jms shepherd!! I thought I'd be ok with 45 but then I made the mistake of second guessing myself. Better than safe than sorry huh :c:?

yep no problem. If you are hitting more than 45lbs with your stock turbo.....It will loose it's efficiency and therefore you're just blowing hot air through the system resulting in higher EGT's etc....which can result in melting internals or blowing something up...
