He who does his homework doesn't fail in the end!:moon: Seriously They are a joke when it comes to customer service! The B*$cH that owns it only has one thing on her mind!!! Money!!! When you burn someone for 8k and think it's no big deal the word will get out in the diesel community!! Long story short a seal installed backwards = fried tranny in 100 miles cost to replace 8k plus labor! Claim responsibility you would think!
NOT!! 6 months later and only after legal litigation was case closed! Didn't have to go that way! Customer service is what?? Sorry to rant hate to see a freind get burned like that!! and as time goes on this poor guy will fill us in on what they do! TO HIM!!:argh:

While I understand your frustration, he already has the unit, so lets focus more on supporting him through his dilemma rather than to take the opportunity to relentlessly bash a manufacturer.

Metal in pan is bad, but how much? Some is normal. Is it steel or aluminum?

Have you performed a pressure test to see what line and clutch pressures are? Have you checked codes? A TV motor failure can cause this as well. How about shifts? Shifts seem like they are soft or take forever? Does it go through all 4 gears? Lock up correctly?

had the same shudder on mine last time i had the auto before the swap ended up being a direct drive drum cooked and all clutches blown that was after 6 days lol got it rebuild and did the stick swap

it shifts fine. still firm. as long as i'm in higher gears i'm good no problems. i'll take a magnet to the shavings and see what it is.

Did you get the single or multi disc BD converter? Also, is this from a stop or in the top gears like its not holding in the lock up?

pngmotoman 01-14-2010 11:02 AM

from a stop. i was told that it was a multi but i got it off a guy that totaled his truck so that is why i'm thinking it could be the converter
