TC lockup

K so i just got my 48re built in my 06 and i was wondering about this tc lockup. How do you know when the torque convertor locksup? If i'm pulling heavy dio i want it locked up? and if so should i make the mystery switch for it. Kinda new to autos so sorry if its a dumb question but any help and explanation is appreciated.

Do you have the controller? The TC locks up automatically after about 35mph You want it locked up when towing. The controller will let you keep it locked up so you can use it for downhill control.

Tow/Haul and O/D Off, locks around 35. If O/D is on, locks up at 50 under light throttle, or 60 under heavy throttle.

i always use tow haul mode when pulling and when pulling my telehandler i have od off around town and stuff but i did not kow if i could get it to lockup on takeoff or if i wanted it locked up on takeoff and what is the real benefit of it?

Look at this site: TS Performance Torque Converter Lockup Controller TSPTCL The TC won't lock till your moving You will stall if your at a stop. Lock up means direct drive from engine to tranny.
