Studder /Hesitation At Idle

Hey guys

Any input u have will help.

05 Dodge Ram Dually Cummins, just melted 3 pistons, cracked the head in eight places and burned a hole in # 1 exhaust valve Lol 2 years of stacking Edge and Smarty on high anybody seen that before... probably worse rite. I bought an 06 motor off ebay with 30,000 miles, real clean changed everything over put 90hp ddp nozzels in it runs real good a lot more power. I turned the Edge and the smarty off, just running htb2 62/14 turbo and nozzels also bd lift pump. If i am driving like a normal human being and come to a stoplight it intermittently studders or hesitates about three times then runs fine again and it doesnt do it all the time if i beat the shit out of it its fine. New filter and injector cleaner. Any ideas? Thanks:humm:

Somewhere around 1700 1800 it got hot plowing once up to about 260 the snow/ice bent the fan clutch wire bracket into the fan and stopped it. I dont have a fuel pressure gauge i was thinkin about getting the quadzilla digital rail pressure/fuel pressure gauge any ideas?:argh:

My '03 was doing the same thing. It didn't throw any codes, and ran fine when it was hooked up to diagnostic equipment. After months of trying to isolate the problem (while it got progressively worse) I ended up replacing the "fuel control actuator". It's part of the cp-3 pump. The part cost $109 plus tax. It's available at Cummins, and takes about 5 minutes to change-out. You'll need the engine i.d. # to get the correct part- That is located on the intake side of the valve cover. It worked for mine, hope it does for yours too.
