Lucas Oil Questions

I am getting ready to drop the pan in the transmission put in a new governor solenoid, adjust the bands and was wondering if anyone has any experience using the Lucas oil transmission fix and the heavy duty oil additive. Going to do an oil change to Rotella T 5W-40 synthetic. Any help would be great!

we prefer to use rotella 15w-40, and we like to use lucas oil stabilizer when we can... and we havent had any problem with lucas's porducts. as for the trans fix; we've used it in my 89 and the parents 98... the 98 was pumped dry for fluid when the cooler line ruptured and it still moves.. idk what kind of dammage if any was done but my transmission guy did say for the ammount of fluid that we had to put in the truck he was suprised it still moved forward. so as said before we havent had any problems with their products

Definitely synthetic of some sort where you are at. Balmy up there I'm sure.
As for tranny, I would highly recommend a synthetic there as well. Not big on additives especially if you use a good quality brand.

There's a thread over on Comp D regarding Rockers being destroyed by oil and oil additives. Cant remember the details but it did have a mention of rotella problems, not sure if it's specificly rotella.
I can also say that the last two trucks with rocker damage I've seen were running rotella. With that said the oil had been pushed to far with bad filtration!

There's probably 50 threads regarding this if you do some research!

And I second Heath on additives. Every truck that I've ever seen use additives had some pretty major issues!

I got a 1998 Chevy Tahoe with 193,000 miles on her. All origional too.

The engine does not burn oil (does use about 1/2 qt every 5000 miles) and the trans is still shifting and locking well.

I have run lucas in the engine and trans since about 23,000 miles and would say I am happy with their products.:c:
