Tranny Qestion

152000 miles trouble free and the tranny finally started to act strange. It seems to not want to shift until 25 mph and then goes into 3rd and won't go to 4th. was working great up till Sat after dropping my trailer. No 2nd and no 4th, still pulls good but no TC lock up. Anybody have any ideas. I have search but nothing really to compare to. Thanks. Niels

If you haven't replaced the governor pressure solenoid and sensor I would. It is directly above the magnet and everybody seems to have trouble with them. From Chrysler they are a bit expensive, I paid close to $300.00 Canadian for them, but I see on Ebay you can get both for around $100.00. I also noticed there is an aftermarket kit that is suppose to elimanate problems with the solenoid, might be a worthwhile investment. They sell for about $200.00 on Ebay.

Governor solenoid causes a hunt from 1-2. I would drop the pan and check for clutch material, metal, and burnt fluid.

I'm thinkin your rigth. But 152000 miles(245000km) isn't to bad considering it pulls a 14000lb trailer almost every day. Thanks guys.

Used some seafoam trans cleaner. Flushed it out on Wed and dropped the pan. Every thing looked good in there. No sign of any wear at all. Notjing changed. UNTIL TODAY. Went onth highway and 4th came back as did TC lockup. Ten 2nd came back and it all went back to normal. I hate electronics. I will be installing a new GPS and hopefully be good for another 100,000. It obviously is not a mechanical problem.
