2wd vs. 4wd

I am looking into buying a 05 and eventually going to do some serious mods. Im not going to lift the truck or put huge tires on it.
So my question is, for daily driving and occasional drag racing which would be better. 2wd or 4wd?
Obviously with the 4wd i would be launching in 4hi.
With 2wd would i lose traction too easily with 600+ hp?

With all that weight on the front end get the 4x4, I have backed my truck into the grass and had the front end sitting on gravel and couldn't move till I hit 4WD, in the rain I had my stock 05 2500 lose traction at 70 mph on Florida ice when I was passing someone.

if ur wantin to make 600hp, and drag race occasionaly, u will need a 4wd, or a set of slicks. oklahoma 6 speed was spinning all the way down the track saturday in 2wd, and he is around 4wd. :U:

two wheel drive will hook drag cars have been that way for years. both my dads diesels were and are 2wds they hook great with some good full wrinkle slicks and a little suspention work. the 04 he had was makin 900 hp too so hp aint a problem just do what drag racers have done for years transfer that weight to the rear tires and let her eat.

with the right tires a 2wd. will go anywhere a 4x4 will. I use to take my chevette w/ snow tires through the same fields 07redsled took his GMC 4x4.

With a truck of this size 4x4 is almost a must. With my ranch hand, and my winch up front, it is fairly easy to start to spin tires in slight mud on the rear. Stick it in 4x4 and it is a whole different animal!
