winters coming!
 

hey guys. i livein alberta canada, so it gets cold in the winter, and i work oilfield so i get the pleasure of going out in this cold. last year i had a horrible time tryin to get anyheat out of my 2003 3500 cummins HO. i had cold fronts, card board, you name it! but this year im gunna change the thermostat. any idea which number i should go on the thermostat? i would assume the highest i can get haha. any other tricks you guys use to get some heat out of your cummins? anything helps thanks guys!

Get your thermostat straight from Cummins, DO NOT get it from Napa or Autozone they dont work right.

195 should be fine the truck with a 195 and unless there is something else wrong with the system

Why doesn't the one from NAPA work right? I worked there for over a year before I went to college and sold quite a few of them for Cummins and they have never had a problem.

I agree the Cummins one probably is better but I was just wondering what the "difference" is just for my information :pals:

Agree - get it from cummins - why chance your $12k engine to a knock off part?

Take your fan off for the winter - you dont need it.

An Espar or Webasto coolant heater is a fantastic addition for the winter months. Should help suppliment your heating system as well.
