Default OIL BLOWING OUT OF TIMING COVER,COOLANT BLOWN FROM REAR FREEZE PLUG

JUST GOT MY SMARTY TUNER 3 DAYS AGO AND WAS EXPERIMENTING. I HEARD THAT THE TNT-R ON THE 03 HAS RAIL POP. JUST HAD TO CHECK THIS OUT. WAS DRIVING AROUND WITH THE SETTINGS ON SW#5 T2 TQ3 R1 MP-8 ABOUT 70%. THIS TUNER IS AWESOME! THEN PUT SETTINGS ON SW#7 T2 TQ3 R1 MP-8 70%. THIS PRODUCED RAIL POP UNDER LOAD. I PULLED OVER TO CHANGE THE SETTINGS BACK AND SMELLED ANTI FREEZE. WHEN I CHECKED IT OUT THERE WAS OIL AND COOLANT ALL OVER. THE COOLANT FROM THE BACK AND THE OIL GURGLING FROM THE FRONT TIMING COVER AREA. I KNOW ABOUT COOLANT BY-PASS WHEN RUNNING HARD UNDER LOAD, BUT THE OIL BLOWING OUT UNDER LOAD? IS THIS JUST BAD LUCK OR IS THERE A MOD TO PREVENT THIS? OR IS IT AS SIMPLE AS A CLOGGED BREATHER OR A BAD GASKET? ANY INSIGHT WOULD BE HELPFUL.THANKS.

first of all it could be a blown head gasket which seems most like what your dealing with. If oils blowing out the timing cover could be a busted block or hole in a piston. Sounds like the crankcase and cooling system are pressurized which is probably a head gasket. Did you let the truck warm up before bringing the boost up?

the truck was warm. didn't go wot because of rail pop. i think it went to 38psi. didn't start gushing till i stopped. this sounds pretty ugly.

Sounds like a HG (Head Gasket). They are easy enough to change yourself, I did mine when my truck was still technically under warranty. I see that you are already studded, are you sure that they were still torqued properly? I would pull the head, send it to be checked for trueness, decked if needed and then put it back together.

Could have been high timing or an injector problem that caused the gasket failure. Is your head ringed?

timing and boost. pop goes the...

probably just a head gasket. its common to squirt oil and/or coolant. if you lift the head and escapes from cylinder 1, it could shoot oil out the front towards the fan. been there done that.

becareful bro... moderation!

Dude, you maxed out your 555 motor's fuel timing to 21* and added at least 3* more effective timing from the MP-8 through the re-entrant (flatter) injectors!

Sounds like you found out the hard way that's an easy way to roach an engine... bet the HG is wasted for sure - hope none of the coolant got to the bearings.
