Default Coolant Questions

Is it ok to run water with a radiator cleaner for a few days and then flush it out or is it better to do the cleaner with a 50/50 coolant and water mix like you would normally put in the truck and then flush the cleaner out? Is it safe to only run water in the truck at all or should you always run it with coolant as well?

That is a new one... maybe I'll have to try it.

I wouldn't run the truck with just water and cleaner even for a short time... You do this and the water pump has nothing to lubricate it (the coolant usually does this job.)

depending on the flush it instructs you to drain; rinse and then fill with water and the radiator cleaner for 3-6 hours of normal driving after that drain, rinse and fill with the appropriate coolant mixture.... idk i may have added an extra rinse... sorry i saw oxy clean and started thinking laundry

IMHO, flushing the radiator is over rated and a waste of time and money. Just drain whatever comes out the radiator pet ****.......usually about 4+ gallons, lift the rear of the truck if you want more out, and then just add a 50/50 mixture of a HOAT antifreeze and distilled water until full again!!!
