Default Is there really any benefit?

Is there really any benefit of taking out my silencer ring? I took it out of my old turbo about two days before it went out and i could not tell a difference at all. Maybe it was because the turbo was bad? Anyways i want to take it out if it won't hurt it at all and if there is a benefit to it other than it supposed to sound different. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Its not going to damage anything. All it was made to do was "Silence" the Turbo. If someone told you that got better mileage then there wrong.

The only difference I notice is the whistle is louder. I love the whistle but some people put the ring back on because they don't like that much whistle.

need two little screwdrivers some are a little harder to get out...

You can also gut your torque tube (intake hose that runs from the turbo to air box) there is like a cross section baffle in there and that will make it whistle louder

Took it out and also gutted the tube and i really can't tell much of a diff. maybe because of the drone of the exhaust?
