03 cummins popping
i have a 2003 dodge 3500 5.9 cummins. whenever i turn my programmer up over 100 hp i have a bad popping noise and sputtering at a high rpm under full throttle. it shoots out fast sputters of black when it's goin on and it's only when im full throttle speeding up quickly. if im on the highway and run it on up t0 3000rpm and am at full throttle im fine. i have already installed a bd diesel fuel pump (stock bypass) and that didnt fix the problem. i know these stock fuel systems are supposed to support up to 600 hp. so i dont see why mine does this. im going to adjust the valves this afternoon because of the faint ratteling sound im hearing. also i have 190,000 miles on stock injectors, could that be an issue too?
I agree ^^^^. Dude, you've got an '03. How many millions of miles do you have on the stock CP3???? Get my point????
You can have the best LP on the planet, but if your CP3 is worn, or toast..........you're gonna see what you are now!!!!

rail pop, the 03-04's are known for the rail pop. I ran TNT on my smarty and had bad rail pop..its something with the timing of the injection from the cp3. The TNT tune was for the 04.5 and newer because the cp3's have a different injection timing than the 03-04. so it might be a timing issue with this..
How can the rail pop or timong issue or rail pop be fixed? also if i stay in it after it starts popping it clears up after about a second until i do it again in the next gear. and its only at and after 2500 rpm
