does the 06 have a silencer ring that can come out like the other turbos?

How do you take it out? I might have to try that

 

remove your intake to expose the mouth of the turbo you'll see the snap ring holding the silencer ring just inside. First you have to pry the snap ring out carefully not letting anything fall in to the turbo. using a small flat head and/or a scribe one to pry up and one to pull out then just work it around out of the grove. once the snap ring is out the silencer ring just pulls out. Its usually pretty easy, another thing to do is gut out the intake tube should give you a nice wistle.
