silencer ring and BHAF

Default silencer ring and BHAF

is there a silencer ring on 3rd gen trucks (04.5?) i read up on how to remove it
also can i do a BHAF since im short of cash for an intake now? the dang pa diesel prices are killin me

Yes you can remove the silencer ring on 3rd gen truck, and yes you can also set up a BHAF and silencer ring MIA means it's missing in action, which means you have it but you took it out or maybe you threw it away or whatever but it just means it's no longer a part of the turbo

ok cool, once i get some cash, i will do the bhaf, but this weekend i will do the silencer work and look at some BHAF's

Dang ring on the 3rd gens is sure a lot harder to get at than the 2nd gens are. Took me a bit longer. Need to be about 7 foot tall to work comfortably on these things

That's exactly what I've done to my intake so far. You may also want to look into removing the crap in the center section of your intake. (The big section in the middle)

ur def right heath, tried doing a simple thing like emtying the fuel/water seperator and is a long reach.
what crap inside the intake? im prolly just doin a bhaf cuz cash aint easy to make these days...dang diesel is already goin up

If you pull the intake off , between the airbox and the turbo, and disassemble it you will find a big plastic "X" right in the middle which is designed to deaden the sound of the turbo. Cut it out of there and your turbo will whistle even louder.

Money is tight. That's why I have a BHAF and I'm piecing my exhaust together myself. It's gonna cost me about half of an aftermarket system and that's even with finding the better turbo elbow for it.....
