03 ball joints / help

Default 03 ball joints / help

went to get my truck alligned and they said cant do it needs upper and lower ball joints and one on the drag link any body had this issue if so any tips and or tricks???? havnt done them on a truck in a long time.... strange i havnt had any DW issues i can tell my pass front tire starting to wear a lil funny and they are fairly new toyos cant have that.... thanks.

around 35k i had 2 death wobble attacks so i took it in and they replaced upper and lower among other things

i had mine replaced at my mechanic shop.
too much damn work to do those in the
driveway.

Thats what I hear... I believe it requires a "special tool" on one or the other upper or lower, I dont know for sure

the shop wanted 1100 bucks. I have use of my buddies shop he runs a concrete pumping biz and they have a bunch of trucks = nice big well equipted shop. what "special tool" anyone know????

Harbor Freight sells the "special tool". I also bought the master kit. Makes ball joints a little easier.

autozone should have the ball joint press as a rent a tool. pay for it, use it and then return it for a full refund....

yeah ball joint press (the 4x4 model) , the master kit is nice as you can find a better adapter than what is given with the kit.
also some sort of heating device as sometimes a little heat will save a lot of hammering and grief.
