New truck mods...
 

i have a bone stock 06 CTD quad cab long bed, & i`m interested in knowing what mods i should do to make a little more power & better fuel economy. It is a daily driver that i use for my work...is replacing the cat. converter, muffler, air filter, etc. i dont know what direction to go...Please help.....Thank You

well, since its a TD, you dont need a muffler (may want to check your local laws first). but, other mods to think about:
exhaust (stacks FTW, but pipes are good too)
cold air intake (K&N) if you dont want an aftermarket, then you can get a drop in K&N
injectors
and performance tuner (sueprchips, bully dog, smarty)

Thanks Midnite....does replacing the cat with a straight pipe make any differance?

to be honest, i dont really know. i would only imagine it owuld though, consider the cat i sort of like a muffler, so i dont see how it wouldnt?

and those mods are good for at least 100+ horsepwoer, and should see an increase in mpg, all depending on how you drive...

yea go with a 4-5in pipe to a tip or stacks if ya like. afe intake possibly, and bigger injectors would help.

Thank You guys for your input....if i go with the next size injectors will i have to get a tuner right away or could i run it with out for a bit.

im pretty sure you could run without one for a bit, but an intake would be a good idea. b/c more gas = hotter egt's..
