T/C and valve body???

i have a 07 5.9 .. what i was wantin to know is could i get away with just getting a new torque converter and valve body or should i just get my tranny rebuild all together.. as of right now my truck has edge juice with att, propane in, bd super b special, upgraded cp3 with duel feed. and will be getting mp-8 and hot unlock and maybe down the road some injectors not sure.. i'm just not sure what these stock trannys can hold up to.. and i live in a small town in alaska so shipping on somthin big will cost a arm and two legs.. thanks for any input

The 48RE can handle up to 500HP with the BD Valve Body and Convertor. There are still some weak components internally that have limitations... no boost launches, burn outs etc... user responsibility!!

With that said if you upgraded to a BD Valve Body and Convertor then had an internal failure we could do a cut-n-clean on the T/C and V/B and credit the value of these back with your core charge on a new exchange transmission.

Hope that helps.

My suggestion is to get an exchange with everything, it is all to easy to excede your plans to make power. And your ability not to do boost launches and burn outs I did everything but the shafts and I feel like I should be carefull not to hurt the trans.

what would a full built bd transmission be able to handle for hp and tq?
thanks

That would depend what the truck is being used for and how the transmission was build? We have a lot of options from billet shafts to full race clutches versus street clutches or something in between etc....

well i would like to hit the 650hp mark but not much more. the truck is my daily driver and i do tow 14k fishing boat 4 or 5 times a year and would like to hit the drag maybe once or twice a year.. the truck is lifted on 38s .. what would fit my needs best ? also what would somthin like this run?

You are looking for a 650HP street driver that you can tow with and race on the weekends... aren't we all! :c:

I can make a transmission to hold the 650HP and am not concerned about towing with that kind or power and tire combo, our transmission will hold that. With that said drag racing with those tires even once a year puts a lot of shock load on the input, output shafts and clutches, it only takes 1 pass at the track to tear a trans up.

I would quote you a BD Exchange Transmission will street/drag clutches, billet input, output and intermediate shafts, A BD Convertor and Flex Plate!

For something like that you would be looking between $7000-$8000
