bad mileage and slight smoke all the time
 

In the last few months, My truck has gone from 15-16 MPG city to 12-13 MPG city. It also has a haze of smoke whenever I am accelerating (even lightly). I had an Oil Analysis done about a month ago and showed <.5% fuel in oil by volume. The turbo seems to spool faster than ever since I put on the S&B CAI. The CAI made zero difference except in spool speed. about 2 months ago I tried Power Service with slick diesel for 3 tanks until gone. Nothing. Then I tried Amsoil Diesel Fuel Additive Concentrate. Nothing again. What could be the cause of this? Cracked injector? Injector nozzle holes "distorted" due to too much Rail pressure from the smarty for a couple of days after the Revo update came out? I am confused and hate going to the dealer, because most of the techs are idiots. Oh, and the smoke only ever seems to be dark, no gray. Thanks in advance.

I had the same thing but it was because I had my TST rail pressure turned up and did not know it. :argh:

So once you turned down the rail pressure, problem solved?

might want to check your intercooler boots for any cuts or holes:humm:

Yes it did for me. Like above you might want to check you boots for leaks, pressurise the system, you can find a leak pretty easily.

What is the easiest way to pressurize the system? Thanks for the help guys.:c:

I used the boot that adapted from my turbo to my intake tube, took it to home depot and bought a pvc end cap that fit inside of it, and an air fitting to attach to it with a shut off valve. hook it up to the turbo, hook up the sir compressor to the leak tester and slowly build pressure in the system. I also have a gauge on mine so that I know how much pressure I have in the system.
