Sudden loss of boost under hard acceleration

Got on the throttle hard and felt truck just suddenly fall on its face. Rail pressure had dropped along with boost, no CEL. Truck ran ok but no power if accelerating beyond a granny pace. No smoke. Not making oil, no blowby. Startup and idle smooth. EJA diales to stock.

Replaced both my aux caterpillar filter, stock canister filter. Problem became 25% better. Ran a volume test on lift pump, produced less than 200 mL in 10 sec. Replaced lift pump. Another 25% improvement.

At this point testing showed my rail pressure stayed around 20-22kpsi at WOT, but at WOT I would drop all boost suddenly at 20 psi. Backing off the pedal and reappying it slowly made power but only if acceleration was gentle. Sudden pedal mashing caused boost loss instanyl.

Opened hood and checked boots, found one with a oil stain right at the turbo outlet. Clamps loose. Tightened clamps, about 20 percent better.

All data based on feel to this point as rail pressure ran at 20-23kpsi after the fuel work. APPS showing steady based onEJA reading

Tomorrow i will do a hard reset of the truck-pull batts and EJA connector
Im also getting a boot, hopinng the current one is burping suddenly then sealing up when it closes.

2006 5.9 running AFE bladerunner turbo, edge juice w/att, engine built by DFC diesel, 5" exhaust.

did you try unhooking your edge juice maybe it shit it self or it could be your throttle control

Did a hard reset today, pulled batt leads for 10 mins.

Problem remains. Will replace suspect boot and examine turbo next.

EJA is currently unplugged at the ob2 port as well

Air filter. :spit:

It showed low green on the filterminder, and looked pretty new. But it was clogged something fierce. :rake:

Are you running a stock air filter or a aftermarket?
You should have a cold intake on there with a good aftermarket filter that truck needs to breath.
to have more power need more air

Problem was air filter?

You dont have to bother with aftermarket filter the stock is good to 500+hp. There are a couple mods you can do to stock box to improve flow if desired like remove veins from inside intake pipe and Swiss cheese the bottom of the box.

The after market Kits are helpful if you want high hp and/or more turbo noise.
